3/20/81. N.Y. Times. "FOUR AT WELLS FARGO NAMED BY BOXING FIGURE" "At least four bank officials, not previously mentioned, involved." "Has to do with securing oil concessions in NIGERIA and OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES". Payments to men in Beverly Hills of $80,000 a day, Smith would get 8% daily, or "anything I needed".

Mae: Big question is WHAT OTHER COUNTRIES? If Smith said "Japanese Mafia" involved, there was more than "oil" going on in African countries.
